About Torchley

Torchley is a lighting house. We make pendants, table lamps, floor lamps and sconces for rooms that stay dark until they are meant to glow.

The palette is amber, brass and charcoal. Metal is matte or brushed, never chrome-bright. Glass is opal or frosted. Paper, when we use it, is a lantern, not a novelty.

Four albums

Pendants hang over tables and islands. Table lamps sit on desks and nightstands. Floor lamps arc or stand beside a chair. Sconces wash a wall or clip to a headboard.

We do not sell exposed-wire kits, Edison-style novelty bulbs as décor, or fixtures meant to be assembled from a bag of parts. Each piece leaves in a crate with hardware and a driver or lamp already specified.

The house is named for a torch: a held light, not a flood.
